WinCC Comfort V13 SP1 – Simple Sample: bit triggered real time Trends

“Simple Samples” are small projects that demonstrate simple features. The target is give a quick overview about the theme and be used as start point for related discussions. Follow there are a short description and the configuration main steps.

Description:

In this simple sample, two trends are displayed on HMI start screen by button click (the concept could be extended to controller commands).

The corn of the task solution is to build a control word where the most significant bit commands the trend “plotting” and the other word bits represents the trend curves to be plotted.

Requirements:

WinCC Comfort V13 SP1.

Project with a minimum configuration (stop button, tags, etc. ).

Configuration main steps:

• Create four PLC tags, two to simulate trends signals (PLC_Tag_1 and PLC_Tag_2 as integer), one to control the trend plotting (PLC_Tag_3 as word) and one to show the plotting status (PLC_Tag_4 as word).

• As simulation proposes, drag & drop the tags to a screen. IO field will be created (with this it would be possible to input different values to the tags).

• Place on screen the object “Trend view” (Toolbox → controls)

• Configure the Trend view:

  • Trend View → Properties → Trend → <Add new>

  • In the created line, configure:

    • Trend type = bit-triggered real time

    • Source settings: Process values = PLC_Tag_1; Trend request = PLC_Tag_4; Trend Transfer = PLC_Tag_3; Bit = 0

  • Trend View → Properties → Trend → <Add new>

  • In the created line, configure:

    • Trend type = bit-triggered real time

    • Source settings: Process values = PLC_Tag_2; Trend request = PLC_Tag_4; Trend Transfer = PLC_Tag_3; Bit = 1

To update (plot a new point) of PLC_Tag_1

Place a button and configure on click event the follow functions:

• SetBitInTag: Tag = PLC_Tag_3; Bit = 0 (select PLC_Tag_1)

• SetBitInTag: Tag = PLC_Tag_3; Bit = 0 (command to plot)

To update (plot a new point) of PLC_Tag_2

Place a button and configure on click event the follow functions:

• SetBitInTag: Tag = PLC_Tag_3; Bit = 1 (select PLC_Tag_2)

• SetBitInTag: Tag = PLC_Tag_3; Bit = 0 (command to plot)

To update (plot a new point) of PLC_Tag_1 and PLC_Tag_2

Place a button and configure on click event the follow functions:

• SetBitInTag: Tag = PLC_Tag_3; Bit = 0 (select PLC_Tag_1)

• SetBitInTag: Tag = PLC_Tag_3; Bit = 1 (select PLC_Tag_2)

• SetBitInTag: Tag = PLC_Tag_3; Bit = 0 (command to plot)
