Wincc crash on opening

Manoelmb Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	I'm using Wincc v6.0 SP2 and Windows XP. My Wincc was working well, it stopped suddenly and now when it begins, it closes without any alarm. When I try to open WinccExplorer, it starts opening inicial page, initialize some dll and closes! What can be happening? I checked de IP in the "WinccProjects" and it's OK.

stplanken Silver Member Joined: 3/4/2006 Last visit: 11/28/2024 Posts: 73 Rating: (3)	Wat I would do is create a simple start picture without any scripts, disable things like tag logging, alarm logging, and global scripts (C and VBS) on all machines. Then reboot the server or execute the reset script and see if the project will start normally and the picture in runtime comes up. Check the log files for any errors.

Manoelmb Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi Nemo, my system is mounted over a Dell Dimension 4600, Win XP SP2, with upgrades, Wincc v6.0 sp2 and SQLServer 2003 that comes with Wicc distribution.Everthing was working oh, sudenttly stops working and now, when I try to open Winccexplorer, closes, and T get this msn in TLGRT.LOG : CCTlgServer: ProjectManager: CoCreateInstance failed ! ->8000401A

You can indeed order the upgrade free of charge through the website, however depending on your location you should consider the time it'll take until the upgrade gets to you! The firts time I ordered an upgrade it got here in Brazil in 6 week days. However, the second upgrade I ordered never got to me. I sent an e-mail after a month and they sent it again, and it took another month for it to get to me. The third upgrade took a month and a half to get here as well! [:cry:] What I mean is that depending on where you'll be, it could be a good idea to check with your local salesperson for that upgrade! [;)] Best regards, Danielle

Manoelmb Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	TKS friends, I had to format and reinstall my WindowsXP SP2 and Wincc. It's working now, Wincc SP2 with XP SP2 without problems. I tried everthing that you told and Siemens Faqs recomendations,but everything fails. I activated automatic updating from XP, I hope have no more problems! Thanks!!!

This means that the problems may start again. I would strongly advise you upgrade WinCC to SP3 or SP4 for compatibility reasons. Regards, Salma
