WinCC Data Monitor connection to server

marinb126 Posts: 26 Rating: (0)	Help! I have installed : Wincc v6.0 Data Monitor v6.1 server Data Monitor v6.1 client Microsoft Excel (already installed) on my Windows XP +sp2 OS. When i try to connect with excel (Dat@Workbook wizard) on my wincc server i get message "Connection Establishment" and nothing else happens! I saw some previous threads on this matter so i tried to install Dat@Monitor again with administrative rights but still i get the same message. I also enabled ActiveX control in Control Panel - Security settings but it didnt solve this issue. Can anyone help me on this matter?

JMJ Posts: 487 Rating: (45)	What are your WinCC and DM versions including SP? Check the compatibility list http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/21927773 DM 6.1 required WinCC6.0 SP3 and DM6.1 SP1 requires WinCC6.0 SP4

marinb126 Posts: 26 Rating: (0)	Thank you JMJ but i already solved my problem.(The problem was in security settings) btw., you wrote that DM 6.1 required WinCC6.0 SP3 and DM6.1 SP1 requires WinCC6.0 SP4 but this stands for the latest versions that DM works (not DM 6.1 also works for winCC6.0 SP2, SP1...) Regards...

JMJ Posts: 487 Rating: (45)	That's not true. Please check the compatibility table given in above post. WinCC6.0 SP1 and SP2 is compatible with DM6.0 and SP1 respectively. It may seem to work with some features but if Siemens compatibilty table suggest that it is not compatible, then there are some issues that can arise if you use two non-compatible packages together.
