WinCC : export to Excel but very long...

Hmmm ... I ran your script and it took 3 seconds to run. So ~3seconds for 72 tags. I then expanded the script to export 300 tags and it took 3-4seconds which I would say is acceptable.

To troubleshoot the issue, I inserted a few debug comments and noticed that the majority of the time was taken reading the tag values. Now my tags are internal but I am guessing that yours are PLC tags.

If you have WinCC V6 SP3 then you can use the CreateTagSet method to do a group read. This made no difference in the time to my script but then again I was using internal tags so that was probably why.

Here is an example of using the mutiple tag read. Give it a go and let us know what you find. Is the time being spent on the tag reads or somewhere else?
