ionut.b Bronze Member Joined: 1/17/2007 Last visit: 10/6/2020 Posts: 289 Rating: (3)	Since I have a license for STEP7 V5.4 installed on my laptop, and making differentprojects with it, can I install a WinCC RC 256 license on it, to produce WinCC Projects usablefor PC's with only WinCCRT 256 installed? Any difference from a WinCC Project created only with WinCC RC (without STEP7?) Thanks.

Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	Hi, A RC license allows you to do engineering. A 256Ptg RC license will allow you to do engineering on any project with less than 256 external tags. This includes stand-alone stations, clients, servers, etc. If you have 257 tags in your project WinCC will go to demo mode. This means you'll be able to change stuff in your project, but WinCC will close from time to time... The redundancy option will be required for the redundant pair. The engineering station itself doesn't need the license for engineering to be conducted. However, if you with to perform a redundancy test (shut down one of the servers and check the database sync, for instance) you'll need the redundancy license... Not sure I've made myself clear... so if you still have doubts, feel free to ask! Best regards, Danielle
