WinCC Pro (TIA) - Server/Client problem

The communication has been established. When I log on to the server, the runtime starts and i get the following message: Start picture not found. Please configure the desired start picture. I have configured the start picture in the project (under client->runtime settings-> general->start screen) just as it is described in the WinCC manual. Does anyone know what could be the problem? K!ke Posts: 1299 Rating: (136)	Hello, did you activate the user right "1000 - Enable remote control" for the wincc user? did you check the pc name of the client pc in the device configuration? do you use the same windows user with same password in server and client pc? K!ke

The user rights "1000 - Enable remote control" is activated for the WinCC user (the user also has administrator rights). The PC name is correct in the project configuration. No, i don't use the same windows user (with same password) on server and client PC, but i don't see why should this be a problem. Regards, Igor

In the attachment are two pictures, theone that shows the error and the other that shows that the client PC can see and remotely access the server PC. Does anyone have any ideas? Igor007 Advanced Member Joined: 5/19/2009 Last visit: 7/30/2024 Posts: 40 Rating: (0)	Here is the project (developed in TIA V12 SP1). This one I've created this morning, and i got the same error. I just don't see what I'm doing wrong. I can activate and deactivate the project from WinCC Client PC using Simatic Shell. Furthermore, while the project is running on the server PC, with WinCC RT Start i can browse the server to choose the .mcx file of the project. When I select it, the pop up for login appears and I log in. The WinCC starts and after that i can the error message. I have the same user name and password on both server and client PC (both are running Win 7 64-bit Pro) and all users are in the SIMATIC NET group. Attachment SERVER_CLIENT.zip (203 Downloads)

K!ke Posts: 1299 Rating: (136)	Hello, one of the members of the german forum had a problem when he didn't use the computer name as "name" of the device. I think it was a different error but maybe this can help you.... Did you change the name of one of the pcs after installing wincc? do you use the same version (incl. service packs and updates) on both pcs? K!ke

My development PC was also the server PC (and as we all know, one cannot download the project to the same machine, so the path for the client screen was wrong and not accessible). After changing the server PC everything has been OK. Sorry K!ke for bothering you and thank you for your time.
