WinCC Pro V13 SP1 Update 9: Stop Graphics Runtime from Runtime

Hello,

Is there a function in WinCC to stop the Graphics Runtime only(other than from the System Tray)?  I want to keep the WinCC services such as the OPC Server running and be able to close the graphics.

I'm guessing you're talking about WinCC Runtime Professional.

The process described in the Windows Task Manager as "WinCC Graphics runtime" is called "PdlRt.exe".

It should be possible to kill the process via batch or exe file. 

If your other WinCC processes keep working this might be a way to solve your problem.

I did some research and found out how to solve my problem.

I found this forum with the code below for the solution:

Dim Running_Processes, Individual_Process

Set Running_Processes = GetObject("winmgmts:root\CIMV2").ExecQuery("SELECT * FROM Win32_Process WHERE Name='pdlrt.exe'")
if Running_Processes.count >=1 then
for each Individual_Process in Running_Processes
Individual_Process.terminate
next
End if
set Individual_Process = nothing
Set Running_Processes= nothing

It worked like I wanted.
