WinCC Problem

This is FYI...we recently converted a 417-H project from v5.0 to v5.1 containing two redundant servers and three clients. After getting the system up and running we developed a WinnCC error. Problem: When opening WinnCC explorer the tags were there in the tag database, i.e. (Tag Management/S7 Protocol/Industrial Ethernet) however there were no .pdl files in graphic designer. The "Base Data" would not open nor would WinnCC runtime. What appeared to correct the problem: We deleted the network neighborhood entirely in NT, re-booted and built it back from scratch. When we opened WinnCC Explorer, everything worked. I am not sure what caused this problem NT, PCS7 or us, but I do know that no one we contacted from SEA had seen this type of error before. PS. Again I ask the user community if you have run into situations using PCS7 please don't be bashful, share your experience with others on this site. It can only help EVERYONE who uses this product. If it was easy everyone would be an expert...or am I the only one who still learns something new every day?

Thanks for the information, I will contact the Hotline for the details. Do you know if there was reason that these rules were not included with the upgrade CD's? I can not seem to find it on my install disks anywhere.

What I have detected is a problem with WinCC and STEP-7 v5.2.

You can not run DataLogging and AlarmLogging.

The SQL server fails to conncect with the data base.
