WinCC Professional V13 SP1 – Simple Sample: X Y Trends

“Simple Samples” are small projects that demonstrate simple features. The target is give a quick overview about the theme and be used as start point for related discussions. Follow there are a short description and the configuration main steps.

Description:

In this simple sample, a x y trend is displayed on HMI start screen is showed in two versions: as real time trend and as historical data.

Three variants are showed:

• Real time

• Historical data cyclic

• Historical data cyclic selective (where a Boolean tag will enable/disable the logging)

Requirements:

WinCC Professional V13 SP1.

Project with a minimum configuration (stop button, tags, etc. See also “WinCC Professional V13 SP1 – Simple Sample: Trends“ https://support.industry.siemens.com/tf/br/en/posts/135199/ ).

Configuration main steps:

Real time X Y Trend:

• Create two PLC tags to represent the X and Y variables (PLC_Tag_1 and PLC_Tag_2 as INT data type).

• As simulation proposes, drag & drop the tags to a screen. IO field will be created (with this it would be possible to input different values to the tags).

• Place on screen the object “F(x) Trend view” (Toolbox → controls)

• Configure the Trend view:

  • Trend View → Properties → Trend → <Add new>

  • In the created line, configure Data Source:

    • Source Type = Tags

    • X values = PLC_Tag_1

    • Y values = PLC_Tag_2

    • Update cycle X = 1s

    • Update cycle Y = 1s

Historical data (Logging Tags – Cyclic) X Y Trend:

• Create two PLC Tags (PLC_Tag_1 and PLC_Tag_2 as INT data type) and, as simulation proposes, drag & drop the tags to a screen. IO field will be created (with this it would be possible to input different values to the tags).

• Create a Data Log (Project tree → HMI → Historical data → Data logs → <add new>)

• Configure the data log:

  • Create a Logging tag (Project tree → HMI → Historical data → Logging tags (division) → <add new>; Process tag = PLC_Tag_1)

  • Create a Logging tag (Project tree → HMI → Historical data → Logging tags (division) → <add new>; Process tag = PLC_Tag_2)

• Place on screen the object “F (x) Trend view” (Toolbox → controls)

• Configure the Trend view:

  • Trend View → Properties → Trend → <Add new>

  • In the created line, configure: Data Source:

    • Source Type = Logging tags

    • X values = Data_log_1\Logging_tag_1

    • Y values = Data_log_1\Logging_tag_1

Historical data (Logging Tags – Cyclic selective) X Y Trend:

• Create three PLC Tags (PLC_Tag_1 and PLC_Tag_2 as INT data type; PLC_Tag_3 as boolean) and, as simulation proposes, drag & drop the tags to a screen. IO field will be created (with this it would be possible to input different values to the tags).

• Create a Data Log (Project tree → HMI → Historical data → Data logs → <add new>)

• Configure the data log:

  • Create a Logging tag (Project tree → HMI → Historical data → Logging tags (division) → <add new>; Process tag = PLC_Tag_1)

  • Configure the logging tag: Acquisition mode = Cyclic selective; Start/Stop tag = PLC_Tag_3

  • Create a Logging tag (Project tree → HMI → Historical data → Logging tags (division) → <add new>; Process tag = PLC_Tag_2)

  • Configure the logging tag: Acquisition mode = Cyclic selective; Start/Stop tag = PLC_Tag_3

• Place on screen the object “F (x) Trend view” (Toolbox → controls)

• Configure the Trend view:

  • Trend View → Properties → Trend → <Add new>

  • In the created line, configure: Data Source:

    • Source Type = Logging tags

    • X values = Data_log_1\Logging_tag_1

    • Y values = Data_log_1\Logging_tag_1
