In the Logging settings of runtime is it possible to select the voice "Measured values with acquisition mode "On demand"" to store this type of tags in the "fast data log". Usually it's selected, but if I de-select this voice, these type of tags will be saved on the "Slow data log" automatically? I think yes, but it's not clear. Thanks.

ElonksuM_SN_BN Regular Expert Joined: 5/6/2022 Last visit: 4/22/2025 Posts: 587 Rating: (122)	Hi ManZan, From my experience, all variables that are configured as cyclic and with a low time (<=1s), will be recorded in the fast data log. Everything else goes to "slow data log". This is discussed in the TIA Portal manual: "SIMATIC STEP 7 Basic/Professional V17 and SIMATIC WinCC V17: Assigning Logging Tags to the Log Types." In the "Result" section at the bottom you will find the following: "All logging tags to which these settings apply are logged in the Fast data log. All logging tags to which these settings do not apply are logged in the Slow data log." I hope I was able to help you!

It is clear to me how the tags are divided between the "fast" and the "slow" ones, as a default those sampled with a time <= 1 minute go into the "fast" ones, on the contrary into the "slow" ones. What I need to clarify, also reported in your link, is this statement: "If you want to log acquired values to the fast data log on demand, activate the "Measured values with acquisition mode "On demand" option in the "Fast data log" column. So, for the "on demand" tags, if you activate this option (For dafault is "on") these type of tags are stored in the "Fast" data log. But if I unckeck this option, these type of tags will be stored automatically in the "Slow" one? I think yes, but it is not clearly specified, so I wanted to ask anyone who had the opportunity to delve deeper into this aspect. Thanks.

Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 4/24/2025 Posts: 15350 Rating: (1895)	Hello ManZan the default settings for Tag logging is: so every cyclic logged value that is 1minute or faster will go to Taglogging Fast and all other to Tag logging Slow. you can also define that all on demand logged tags should also go to Fast (if checkbox is selected) or to Slow if its unselected: Bye Murof
