WinCC Projet in Step7 integration

markiii Posts: 33 Rating: (0)	Hi all, I found two ways of integrating an OS (WinCC Project) into a Step7 project. 1/ Inserting a new object "OS" directly in the Step7 project 2/ Inserting a new object "SIMATIC PC-Station" and configuring it as a WinCC Application with the use of an "IE General" as CP for Industrial Ethernet ( I am using the computer's network card). With the solution nr. 2 I can see the PC-Station in Netpro, with nr.1 there is nothing there. What are the pros and cons of these two methods ? Eventualy there are some informations in the PDFs but I do not know which one I should read

If you have wincc software in your PC,then you can find the complete details of Wincc Integrationfrom the following path Path: start/simatic/Wincc/Wincc information system/working with wincc/Integration of Wincc in Simatic manger

Although I have read the detailprocedure for integrating S7 with wincc on WinCC Information System > Working with WinCC > The Integration of WinCC in SIMATIC Manger > Managing WinCC Projects and Objects with SIMATIC Manager > Importing a WinCC Project with SIMATIC Manager & on Siemens Product Help as well But the problem is thatI m not getting those options in my Software through which its procedure has been defined i.e. OS option is not available in my SIMATIC ( you can see its screen shots in enclosed file ) I would be very very thank full if any body can share with me the detail method regarding it? In cases where WinCC installation is done before Step 7, AS-OS engingeering option is to be installed from WinCC installation DVD after you have completed your Step 7 installation. Please follow installation procedure described in thisthreadand also have a look at this FAQfor some screen shots. The options you are looking for should be available after the installation of thes option.

As I understand, you are creating a project with its HMI as an OS along with the PLC programs too. In the second case you are creating a seperate project for HMI and seperate project for PLC and then combining them as a multiproject in the Simatic System. Well the advantage of the second case is that you can easily port the HMI software int o another project easily. You are more felxible to add another plc into the project and developing the HMI for that plc also in the existing PLC. We prefer this because as OEM vendors we mix and match different type of HMI and projects and PLC combinations. With the first method it is not easy to port it into another project (unless the other project is also similar to this one. In the first case the PLC program and HMI program there exist a much tighter connection. But in reality it does not help us much once you know the system well. Krish

markiii Posts: 33 Rating: (0)	Thanx for your post Krish ;) Krish But in reality it does not help us much once you know the system well.Krish Well I do agree with that now ^^ The PLC software is not written now but I have a WinCC Project to do... I know the structure of the PLC software so I can do it, the only negative thing is that I have to create the tags manually
