WinCC Proressional alarm annunciator

jasonr Posts: 108 Rating: (2)	Hi Could someone please tell me how to make use of the alarm annunciator in WinCC professional? I can see how to select which alarms activate it, but what does it actually do? I have not been able to find any information on this yet. What I want to achieve is the same sort of functionality that was previously achieved using the horn module in WinCC V7. That is, to control a PLC tag that is ON whenever the horn should be sounded and OFF the rest of the time. Jason

If there is no annunciator in WinCC V11, then why does the online help in TIA Portal talk about it? The "alarm annunciator" is mentioned a few times in the online help documentation. Also, there are settings in the software that refer to it. For example, HMI alarms can be inidividually configured to either trigger the alarm annunciator or not, by ticking or clearing a tick box. Do you know if there is another service pack due out for WinCC V11 any time soon? In particular, the lack of integrated connection between WinCC Prof and the IM151-8 PN/DP CPU is a real problem for us. Jason

Updates for WinCC Runtime Professional V11 SP2 I have found the alarm annunciator in the HMI alarms settings in WinCC V11. I do not find an editor where you can create a sound for the alarm annunciator. You can find information in the online help how you can acknowledge the alarm annunciator in the script. Tweety
