Hello,
Could you please take a look at the attached scheme in PDF. I'm planning such a single-user redundant system.
I can not understand how we should connect both PCs. Do we need another PCI cards and software? What's the connections solution?

hi, - connect the both redundant PCs via ethernet; If you don't haveon-board ethernet interfacesin the PCs you canadd additional network inteface cards (for example 3COM network interface card); You can connect the both PCs directly via a cross over ethernet cable. - configure the terminal bus in simatic shell; see FAQ http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/18967416 - It's recommended to use an additional connection over serial interface. This connection is used only for redundancy status signals not for synchronization of data - you need the WinCC-OptionRedundancy (extra license) |
