tx1000 Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hi, I am having problems connecting my WinCC RT advanced to a 1200 plc. When i create an HMI PC station and use an IE general for connection, I connect it to the same PN/IE connection between the PLC and the PC Station. It gives me an error when i select the tags for the PLC address in the GUI setup. If i setup a SEIMATIC TP1500 or any other HMI panel the PLC tags are automatically imported for use in the GUI. This doesnot happens when i try to setup WinCC RT Advanced to connect to the PLC i get invalid internal tag. If i try to make the connection myself it gives me errors. Any help would be appreciated. I have read up on other threads here and they were not helpful with regards to this problem. I have uploaded screenshots. Attachment Screenshots.zip (599 Downloads)

K!ke Posts: 1299 Rating: (136)	Hello, did you insert the connection in "Connection.jpg" manually? Usually, when you connect the two devices in Devices&Network the connection will be automatically added... Are the IP addresses in connection and network the same? K!ke

I tried multiple time to connect it to the PLC from the network view window but the HMI connection is not being established. One of my friends used this to make another HMI to an S7-300 plc a while back, i am unable to contact that fellow. That HMI is still running correctly. Is there any configuration that i have to remove before i can make an HMI for my 1200 plc? The Access point in the connection is shown as S7Online. Do i have to configure a new access point for the PC in the Set PG/PC program in the control panel? Is there any guide that you can recommend to follow?? Thanks

K!ke Posts: 1299 Rating: (136)	Hello, yes, there are some settings to be made in pg/pc interface etc. but I thinkyour problem starts a lot earlier with the connection in tia. the usual procedure is the following 1) insert PLC 2) insert PC with HMI application & communication module 3) go to devices & network 4) connect the two interfaces per drag & drop. you can also try another way. Add a new plc and hmi (without any connection) open a screen in HMI. Click (only one time!) on a db in the plc. you will see the tags in this db in the left bottom side of tia portal. Drag&Drop one of these tags to your screen. Tia makes automatically an I/O-field connected to this tag. In this procedure tia will automatically add the connection... K!ke

tx1000 Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hi! I tried the procedure that you outlined and i get error saying that a connection cannot be established with the PLC. I have attached screen caps. I see that when i add a comfort panel HMI and create a screen in that it works perfectly when i use the simulation. The connection is also automatically added to the HMI portion. The network address are in the same subnet and the pc name and ip is the same as well. Is there a step i am missing? Thanks Attachment Screen Cap.zip (449 Downloads)

K!ke Posts: 1299 Rating: (136)	Hello, The steps are the sameas configuring a connection between a HMI panel. So just try to think what you did different in this two connections. A screenshot of the editors hmi tags and connections would be more helpful to me... K!ke

tx1000 Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hi, I just wanted to ask that in the program block in the PLC i have only used a MAIN block (OB1) in the PLC programming. Havent used any Global DB or anything like that. Could that be the problem?

K!ke Posts: 1299 Rating: (136)	Hello, for using these tags (Inputs and Outputs) you don't need a global DB. The problem is there is no HMI connection at the moment. - Go to Devices and networks in network view - activate "connections" and choose HMI connection in option field next to it - then connect the wincc rt advanced with plc there should appear a new connectionbetween cp ie and plc which is called hmi_connection. (just like there is pn/ie) K!ke

Your PC system IPandProject IP are Same(192.168.0.2 example) currently i dont have TIA V11. am using TIA V12 so i cant attach sample project .I am attachedstep by step . Screen shots for your info.
