I have a simple application, WinnCC Runtime v14, that was working on Win7 without any problem. We had to change the PC for one that has Win10. Then, when I connect to the runtime, all the lamps(bit fields of the PLC) display the attached icon. I have configured the ethernet card with the same IP address as the old one.

Do I have to change something on the firewall? On Windows services I have to allow any services from Siemens?

On the PC side I can do a ping with the IP of the PLC, so they can see each other.

I guess you are using WinCC RT V14 SP1. It is released for 

• Windows 10 Professional Version 1607
• Windows 10 Enterprise Version 1607

Are you using one of this OS systems?

V14 is not released for Windows 10.

The issue you are facing is not a compatibility issue like guessed in the last two posts.

The pictures you see (desert picture with cactus and sun) is a placeholder which is automatically displayed, when the graphic, that shall be displayed there, can't be displayed because the graphic is maybe not present anymore or for example you have a graphic list and select an entry where no graphic is set. For example, you have a graphic list with 3 graphics for the values 1, 2 and 3. If you now set the tag, which selects the graphiclist entry, to for example 4 (for which no graphic exists) those pictures are displayed.

So if you sure, that the graphic, which you want to display, is available and you havn't selected a graphic list entry without any graphic set for, perform a rebuild all of the runtime and download it again to see if the issue still occurs.

Thanks for all the inputs! In my case, the variables have changed in HMI RT variables to symbolic address instead of absolute address! When I looked at the HMI tag list I saw it was not linked to the database on the PLC!

I have to go away on vacations! :)
