Wincc Server Client Connection Problem

valmet Advanced Member Joined: 11/9/2007 Last visit: 11/17/2024 Posts: 25 Rating: (0)	Hello My problem is continue.I check ; 1.XP user,I use same user win xp and wincc and user account member of "administrator,power user,remote desktop user,simatic hmi,simatic hmi cs,simatic hmi viewer) Also in server and client side ı use same user. 2.I check the ping command both side(Server and Client) ıts ok 3.I check the network places when ı use the client computer ı create new folder or file in server driver 4.ı sellect start picture.In server side there are two computer first is server and ı sellect start picture for exmp my start picture name "main" ı sellect "main.PDL second computer is client and ı sellect the same picture .In client side there is one computer name and ı sellect the same picture now ı try to install wincc difrent client and try connection but ı dont connect the server what do you think ,What can ı do.

billwest Posts: 510 Rating: (120)	Does the user on XP and on the client have a password. If the password is blank, this can cause problems. I have seen Administrator with no password not work in client server applications, even though XP allows access to the computer without a password.. A password is required. Bill

valmet Advanced Member Joined: 11/9/2007 Last visit: 11/17/2024 Posts: 25 Rating: (0)	Hello We have account and password both side.For exp:In server side my XP account is "ELADMINISTRATOR" and password "ELOADMIN" also the client XP account and password same server and client accounts member of all wincc HMıI and admınıstrator groups.In wincc side server and client ı create same account and password.

billwest Posts: 510 Rating: (120)	One of the things I do when I have connection problems is to browse the network to the server from the client. I then browse to the Gracs folder and perform some activity like copy a graphic or create a folder. If Iam abledo this, it is not a Windows Networking problem. If I am unable to do this, then it is a Windows Networking problem. Bill

I tried to define a Start Picture created on my Client, and I put the Start Picture of the Server on a "Picture Window", just like the manual says... But I got the same message "Error with the picture".

Leon1981 Posts: 14 Rating: (0)	Hi, No, the problem is the same. I got that message when I put the start image into a WinCC object, but I got the same error as you when I just configure my start picture as one on the server.

ZeeH Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Hi! Often incorrect Network Adapter settings in Simatic Shell settings cause issues like this. On the server and client computers, open Windows Explorer. Select "My Computer" and choose "Simatic Shell". Right click on the computer name in the middle pane and select "Settings". Make sure the ip address of the Terminal Bus Network Adapter is highlighted in Blue. Also Make sure that all unused network adapters are disabled. Minh27 Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hi all, I already faced this problem. Fortunately, I solved it with one Server and three clients. You only use WinXP, no need Win Server. You should set up DCOM, deactive Firewall. Sever and client must be connected well (test by ping between them, can access without using user and password). And then you set up server & clients following help file in WinCC help. One important thing you all note that. You must turn on sever and wait untill WinCC in the server start up completely then turn on clients. I did solve this problem and I believe that you all will pass it easily. Best regards,
