WinCC Tag Logging CS is write-protected. WinCC ver 6.2 SP 2

inisysAfrica Advanced Member Joined: 2/7/2008 Last visit: 10/30/2024 Posts: 15 Rating: (0)	Hi All, I am trying to add a tag to my tag log archive but it seems that it is write protected by another computer and will not let me save my changes. I do not see this computer name on the network. How do I remove the write-protection or reconfigure the tag logging CS to look at the Server. The tag logging is working fine at the moment. Steve

Phantom75 Posts: 2661 Rating: (279)	Can I assume you tried after deactivating runtime? Close WinCC Explorer and project and then reboot computer and try to add the tag. If this doesn't work, try after shutting down SQL.... Regards

The attachment shows the names of the computers that are on the network. XP123 is not one of them. Is it possible that it was a computer that previously was on the network but now has been removed. Phantom75 Posts: 2661 Rating: (279)	Create a duplicate of the project (using project duplicator)and try to add the tag in the duplicate project. Also, try on a different machine which is not on the network.

inisysAfrica Advanced Member Joined: 2/7/2008 Last visit: 10/30/2024 Posts: 15 Rating: (0)	Phantom75, Thanks for all the advice, I duplicated the project to no avail so as a last resort I deleted lock file TlgCS.loc and this worked. The computer that caused the problem was a virtual computer (VMware) used by one of the engineers to make some changes.
