WinCC TCP/IP to CPU315-2PN/DP

Kibosh Posts: 18 Rating: (1)	Hey all, We are trying to connect a WinCC over ethernet tothe integrated ethernet port of aplc CPU 315-2 PN/DP. Now this port is Profinet but it's said in the catalog that you can also connect to it with TCP/IP. In WinCC we are using the TCP/IP protocol like with a lean cp card. Still we are doing something wrong or just forgetting one thing. We can ping the plc from the WinCC pc, so the connection in windows is ok, I think. I have a feeling I need to add some FB to the plc program but it's the first time we try a setup like this.

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, I just wonder, what channel are you using? Do you use the S7 Channel... and if not... why not? This will work. You are right. the PN Interface of the CPU works with PROFINET, with TCP/IP, UDP and with S7-Protocol. For the use of TCP/IP or UDP you need the so called T-COM Blocks, which are part of the Standard-Lib. I would recommend the use of the S7-Channel without any additional programming. Kibosh Posts: 18 Rating: (1)	It's not for communicating between two plc's. So if I don't need to use any FB's the better it is. It's just for a basic communication between WinCC and the plc. But for some reason it doesn't work. But we can't find the reason why? Ping from pc to plc is ok. PG/PC Interface is set to TCP/IP In WinCC the TCP/IP Protocol is used... IP Adresses are set correctly (otherwhiles the ping won't work) All looks fine but it doesn't work.

Kibosh Posts: 18 Rating: (1)	The driver in WinCC is Simatic S7 Protocol Suite. Under this we have choosen TCP/IP. Is this what you mean? Because I'm not an expert in WinCC.

Kibosh Posts: 18 Rating: (1)	IT's FIXED Stupid, stupid me, if you click with the right mouse button on the TCP/IP driver in WinCC you can choose parameters. There you have to set it to the same as in the network connections. It was just the TCP/IP settings in WinCC. Nothing to do if it was the integrated port on the cpu. Thanx anyway for your help. We are happy now and hitting ourself against the head.
