K!ke Posts: 1299 Rating: (136)	Dear users, Maybe you already noticed thatsome of usexperts started to "tag" new threads sometime ago. If you open a tagged thread, you can see the tag beneath the title. We use the tags to sort the great amount of threads by their topics. By clickinga tag yousee all threads which have the same tag and - in the best case - a similar topic. What's the benefit for you as a user of the technical forum is that you can find similar threads better. So instead of using the search function,you can click on a tag and you will find all tagged threads about a specific topic. At the moment you can only see the tags within a tagged thread. I started this thread to give you a list of all the tags I administer within the conference WinCC (TIA Portal). TIA WinCC Communication- threads about communication with a plc, with other hmi stations etc. TIA WinCC Installation Options General- threads about general questions on wincc (TIA portal) like licensing, installation, compatibility, faults. also includes questions on options, like sm@rtserver, webnavigator etc. The other tags are grouped for wincc runtime professional and panels/runtime advanced. The tag with the beginning "TIA WinCC Prof" includes threads which ask for a solution for WinCC Runtime Professional, the tag with the beginning "TIA WinCC Adv" includes threads which ask for a solution for a panel or the WinCC Runtime Advanced TIA WinCC Adv Alarms Messages TIA WinCC Prof Alarms Messages threads about the configuration of alarms and messages. TIA WinCC Adv Archives / Recipes TIA WinCC Prof Archives / Recipes threads about the use of archives and recipes TIA WinCC Adv Picture Controls TIA WinCC Prof Picture Controls threads about theWinCC controls, pictures, basic objects etc. TIA WinCC Adv System functions/Scripting TIA WinCC Prof System functions/Scripting threads about the different system functions and scripting threads. William_B Posts: 5225 Rating: (1198)	Hi there. I think this is a good idea. There are repeated questions that may be "caught out" more often. For those of us that are not listed as "experts", how can we contribute? Is there a way for us to add something to our questions/answers that would help with the tagging process? The list given is surly not the full list of tags. If non-experts can use tags could we ask for a list that is kept current, it can also be used as a type of look-up index perhaps. I suggest the use of a x2 tag system (do not know if it will work). The 1st states the licence type and the 2nd the functionality. For the panels there are x2 distinct classes - BASIC and COMFORT. We use the BASIC variant and some COMFORT solutions just does not work. I suggest to have individual tags for these. I hope my thoughts are helpful and hope to see this concept works its way through to other sections of the forum ( example Step7 (TIA) ). Greetings. w

All the information we need for taggingis also needed for answering the questions. The listed tags are all tags for WinCC (TIA Portal). I think the whole list of tags won't be printed as we can use the tags also for other issues. Also some of the tags aren't very helpful at the moment as there are not many threads listed (especially in the german forum). I think the experts of the other conferences will also provide their lists when they contain enough information to be helpful. But if you find a tagged thread you can also click on the tag and find similar threads. The system with two tags won't work the way you described. If we do it this way and you click the "Basic"-tag it will show all the winccbasic threads, independent of the second tag. Of course there are some differences between basic panels and comfort panels. But there are also a lot of similarities. So I thinkif you findthe solution for a basic panel in a "comfort" thread it's better than not to search within these threads and open a new one with the same solution. K!ke
