wincc to excel

praveen.pg Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	hai. i am using wincc v6.2. in this envionment we get process values in atabular form and we can take a print out of the report but we can not save as there is no option for it. so my intention is to save the data(archived data ie suppose i want to know the values for various tags between a time interval)to a excel file so that i can refer to it when everi need it. i heard that using ole-db we can do so.we have connectivity pack also.do i need any additionalADD-ON to complete this task. or Connectivity Pack alone is enough. is there any wizard type process to do this in wincc. can anybody help me how to do this step by step.i will be very greatful to u. thank you

Install a PDF-generator and select thePDF-generator as printer,so you can save your prints. Also you can export the tag with the tag logging control to excel(.csv). Can you diccribe want you exactly need? Like : I want to store the tags form the last hour. I want to store the tage between to times. Do you will input the times? Something like that. Yes i need to provide the input.Actually in wincc runtime system when we click on the "reports" link it will display one window. and it has various options like "minute report" , "hour report" like this. so it will ask like this: Enter start time::----------------------- Enter end time::------------------------ and then "submit". now depending on my choice report will be generated.If I selected "hour report" report will be generated with various tag values on the basis of every one hour(Example:-if START TIME is 9.00 and END TIME is 5.00 then the report will have "nine" records ,one record for each one hour like 9.00, 10.00, 11.00.........................up to 5.00).here each record will be inserted for every one hour. In the same way for minutes also (Example:-if START TIME is 9.00 and END TIME is 10.00 then the report will have "sixty one" records ,one record for each oneminute like 9.00, 9.01, 9.02.........................up to 10.00).here each record will be inserted for every one minute. Now what i need is to save this report .but in "WINCC" there is no such option for it but we can do using VBscript or "WINCC OLE_DB PROVIDER".But i dont know the VBscriptor theprocedure inOLE-DB.I have gone through the connectivity pack notes also but i am not getting clear picture of the details. You replied that using PDF-generator(virtual printer)we can save a report.yes, butour requirement is to save in Excel. can you help me in that.do you have any idea on that..any step by step procedure.. using OLE_DB..or correct example and procedure to use vbscript.. I am new to VB and VBScript as well as Wincc v6.2. my job is to get archive data(tag logging archive) from wincc database and to store it in Excel sheet. can anybody provide me the full code how to connect (connection string) to wincc from vbscript and getting data from it and then generating excel sheetand to export the retrieved data into the excel file. actually what i need is to get the values of various tags between a time interval.so i need to create a form(Vb form) that asks like this... Enter start time---------------------------- Enter end time---------------------------- Select which report you need::1)minute report 2)hourly report. Click on the followingbutton(s) to generate excel report. DG1button1 DG2button2 DG3button3 MTpanel1btn4 MTpanel2btn5 Mtpanel3button6 the above is the sample form i need.so first 1) i will enterthe start time and end time(example::start time:9 and end time:10). 2)using a check box i will select minute report(actually here the setup is for every one minute the tag values are entered into the wincc).so in out put, recordsshould be displayed with times like : 9.00, 9.01,9.02...............9.59 and with appropriate values for varoius tags(ex:-KWH, HZ, MVRH...and so on). 3)and i will click onone button shown above(dg1,dg2,...........). so depending on my input data(1).timings 2).report type 3).for which device i need report(buttons represent devices) the output should be generated in an excel file .so further the client cal view excel sheet and then process the data. so can anyone please tell me the procedure to create the form and actions to write when submitting the form.importantly how to connect to wincc databese( i need exact syntax)and to generate excel sheet dynamically with retrieved data. so i can gethike for my job if any one help me. thanks and regards praveen.

You want to store tag between tow times and that every minute, hour,..in an excel sheet, did i understand you right? I never made this, but i think, you can use the export funtion of the trend control. There you canshow the tags between the two times and you can export this selection in an csv-File(excel). When you work at the database you haveknowexactly, what you are doing. regards cumulus
