WinCC V6.0 File - Databases

amateur Posts: 145 Rating: (3)	We migrated the customer's project from WinCC V5.1 SP1 to WInCC V6.0 SP4. There are many files, which we believe they are useless to the current, migrated project and they just occupy space in the hard disk. We are especially concerned for the file "WIN_BEROIASRT.db" (196.696kb) and the contents of the PDE folder (about 800Mb). So, the question is the following: Can we safely delete them? And if yes, which other files can we safely delete? Thanks in advance for your time

Ikkezelf Posts: 1084 Rating: (72)	WIN_BEROIASRT.db Is the runtime database. If you don't need alarm information anymore you can clean the db files up (not delete) (alarmarchive folder). for this you open the alarm logging in wincc explorer, and open "archive configuration" then right mouse click on "Message archive" and select "reset". Note: you can only execute this when you are not in runtime. I have no idea what the PDE is all about

amateur Posts: 145 Rating: (3)	Hi Ikkezelf, Thanks for the information. Furthermore, I have gone through the manual of the WinCC V5 and found that the PDE folder is what is the Archive Manager in the WinCC V6. So, it can be safely deleted. with Regards

If existing, you may delete the folder "PDE" within the WinCC directory, which contains no longer needed circulation archives in dbase III format. "
