WinCC V6.0 SP4 Hotfix 10 communications problem to S7 TCP/IP

Greg R Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	We have a WinCC station talking to 12 S7-315/317 PLC's over a ethernet network. I got the first eight PLC's to talk but can not get the others to talk. I did install the full Softnet IE as the lean only talks to 8 PLC's. I can ping the bad PLC's and even see them if I create a new WinCC project with the three in it. I get an error code of Errorcode 0xFFDF 4104! but have had no luck finding out what this is. Any help? Attachment wincc com.ZIP (245 Downloads)

I have tested the application and deleted connections as can be found on the attached spred sheet. No luck. I even di a new application, same problems. See http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/299124 Next step to try, remove one of the working PLCs from the PLC list. Can you the communicate with the next bad PLC, so you can communicate always only with 8 PLCs

I think you can communicate upto 8 plc in your project. But ifyou want to communicate more than 8 plc , and that is your case Which means you need to buy "Softnet license" it connects upto 64 plc Its bad to buy new license , but I think this the solution Best regards.

Khaled_Ezzat Silver Member Joined: 9/7/2007 Last visit: 10/9/2024 Posts: 550 Rating: (62)	I can say that you can solve the problem in steps: First be sure that each PLC station can is communicating with the WinCC station alone if yes try to insert the stations one after the other untill you find the problem if it is related to any 8 random station only that you can not exceed than 8 stations or not.

Greg R Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Sorry for the spread sheet being a little hard to follow. What I did was try to make one change per test. An what I found is that the first ten connection (talking or not rule the connections). Any connections listed after ten will not work. If I delete one of the original ten then the 11th one starts to talk as it is in the first ten then. If I add the deleted one back in it will not talk as it now is the 11th. I tried to create a new project and got the same results (last few steps of test). The errors like 4104 are from the s7 connection log file. Hope that gives a little more backgorund. Thanks again for the help.

Please issue your problem with support desk through a support request. In that way you have two channels trying to solve your problem. with regards, ikkezelf
