WinCC V6 SP2 hangup

farra Advanced Member Joined: 10/11/2006 Last visit: 12/7/2024 Posts: 96 Rating: (2)	Dear I am using WinCC V6 SP2 on windows 2000 SP4 professional. The project is running on HP proliant server Dl380. The clients connect to the server project runtime. from time to timethe server completly hangs up and we have to some times turn off the power to restart the server.We suspected the server and we changed it completly but no success. We suspect the problem is related to WinCC itself but we are not able to find any clues as the system completely crashes. Any known reasons to this problem? Thanks [:)] farra

Nemo Posts: 3149 Rating: (171)	Hi, which operating system is installed on your WinCC server? How much RAM is inserted in your Server? Are there any other applications running on your PCs? Are using many C-scripts? Could you please post yourall of yourWinCC logfiles here (wincc\diagnose)? nemo

You can run your WinCC clients on your Microsoft operating system but not your WinCC server => please check this FAQ http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/21927773 http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/de/24368350 Anyway I would personally prefer Windows XP for my WinCC clients and Windows 2003 SP1 Server for my WinCC server. nemo
