WinCC Web Navigator Reconnect

Hans Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hi everyone, I'm trying a connection from my Web Navigator Client to my Web Navigator Server. I can make my logon, but afterwards I get the message: 'WinCC Web Navigator Reconnection: No connection to server". I have both the licenses 'WinCC WebNavigator' and ' PCS7-WebServer' present and used on the Server. Any help? Thanks, Hans

Is your WinCC project in runtime? The client will not connect if WinCC is not activated. Regards, Salma

Hans Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Further testing shows that the system is working when the Server is a Win2000 station and the Client is a WinXP. Any explanations? And yes, the WinCC Runtime was on ; ) Hans

Salma Gold Member Joined: 9/27/2005 Last visit: 11/27/2007 Posts: 1398 Rating: (151)	I know this does not answer your question but I would like to remind you that XP is a workstation operating system and not really designed to run server-type applications. I always recommend that WebNavigator is installed on a server operating system (such as Windows 2000 or Windows 2003) as this will allow for future expansion. Remember that XP has a limit of 10 incoming connections and WinCC can be quite greedy when it comes to using these up. Like I say, I know this is not an answer but more of a side point. If your XP system is for testing then fine but if it's intended for a production system then I would have to question the validity of the OS. If you already know all this then please just disregard this post !
