Software solution isn't reliable. Why don't you put a displacement sensor?
What is the goal of your winder app - do you need to control tension or just speed?
What possibility does the drive has - speed, torque, positioning control?

I have project winder and unwinder I think I will use S7-1511T PLC and S210 Drive.

I would like to control speed and torque of fabric roll.

How can I do it in PLC or drive programming and configuration ?
