Windows 7 problem with Simatic manager

Vijay.py01 Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Hi, Am using windows7 ultimate version OS, Simatic manager V5.5( CFC, F config so and so....). When i connect My PC to the S7-417 CPU via cp443, the network is not established. Am trying to set the IP to the CP by Edit ethernet node, but i cant able to browse the MAC ID(since my set PG/PC interface is "ISO Ind. Ethernet") I found the network is not connted with my PC and S7 CPU. May be this patch card problem..? i have to use cross cable...? Butfound the same cable works Windows XP ... but not with the Windows 7.... Please advice me... Regards & thanks, Vijay

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (265)	Generally direct or cross wiring scheme doesn't influence on CP availability. Test your patch and test what you would see if you select in S7 Manager "Display accessible nodes".

If yes - please write down IP address. 2) Check if correct network card selected in Setting PC/PG interface 3) Check there are no network restrictions (due to firewall, anti-virus software etc.) 4) Check if you can see accessible nodes from S7 Manager under Win7 via ISO protocol and via IP protocol (here you need to ensure you can reach this IP -i.e. your PC and CP IP-address are in the same network). 5) Specify what SW you have - Start->Simatic->Installed Software

Hi,

My installed softwares are below...

After setting the IP from Windows XP, i connected my Windows 7 machine to the same PLC and i started a ping... It pings...

But still the same ...it does't detect the mac...

In my PC only one network adpater is there... and i selected the same ISO Ind. Ethernet -> Realtek PCIe GBE Famil...

May be because of Firewall i guess.. i will check and update...tanQ...

I switced off the firewall, still it doesn't works( doesn't detect the MAC ID on edit ethernet node)..

Kindly suggest idea to fix this issue pls...

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (265)	To be honest i don't understand why it's not working on ISO Maybe it was disabled in CP? I see only 1 more thing to do - select TCP/IP -> Realtek PCIe GBE Famil... and TCP/IP(Auto) -> Realtek PCIe GBE Famil... via Setting PC/PG interface and try to reach your CPU via IP address (try both in XP and S7). If it pings it should be available - you can upload CPU configuration then to see CP settings (please specify correct slot number on uploading).

There is a strong possibility that your Firmwareversion is to old to support newer versions of the DLC Protocol (DLC is used to detect your components over LAN). Also I found out, that your installed Step7 Version is only compatible with 32bit Windows 7 Installations - so please check that as well. Connect Both your Windows XP & 7 Computer On the Same Network. 2. Try to assined the Same Series of IP. 3. Select TCP/IP (Auto) in Set PG/PC Interface. 4. then checked from one by one PC for the MAC address is detecting. also Checked when you connected the Cable to the Windows 7 PC are you able to ping the other PC IP on the network?
