wireless connection between s7-300 and access point

mailahmet Posts: 27 Rating: (0)	Hi friends, I want to make a connection between s7-300 cpu 315 2pn/dp PLC and S7 PG via wireless access point. PLC will connect to access point via ethernet cable. PC loaded s7,will connect to wireless access point via wireless. when I try to upload program plc to pg, I can see plc adress in 'select node adress'. but when I press to OK button, there is a error that 'online: connection could not be established. the connection partners is not responding' (33:16656) picture which I want connection, is in appendix. For example: PLC: 192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0 PG: 192.168.0.2/255.255.255.0 Off course the AP you use the zyxel in this case shopuld have another IP-Address for example: AP: 192.168.0.3/255.255.255.0 Additionally you could check or the AP you use has some features enabled which are blocking or disturbe your communication like a Firewall. If so you should make sure that the appropriate ports are opened. But I guess this isn't a problem since you are able to discover the PLC. Why do you use an Office Access Point instead of an Industrial one like for example a Siemens Scalance W Access Point?

And if you add the AP can you then still ping the device? What happens if you disable the wired interface of your PG?

INS Gold Member Joined: 4/6/2006 Last visit: 2/5/2024 Posts: 604 Rating: (56)	Hi, So to find out what is wrong we should go back a little bit and try to find out where it goes wrong. So on wired ethernet no problems arise, it's just on the Wireless part. This could mean a couple things and thee for it's important to: 1. Ping the PLC, if this works the ethernet network and your IP-Adresses is fine. It could mean that something is blocking the S7-Communication (Firewall in the AP or in the PC) 2. If the ping doesn't works this could be for the same reason as above but also due to a conflict in between the different NIC's in your PC. For example if 2 network cards are used in the exact same IP-Subnet this could lead to a conflict in your OS. 3. You should also check the PG/PC Settings from Step 7. Maybe it's still set to the Wired Ethernet card instead of the Wireless Card, although I don't belive this since you are able to see the device via Accessible nodes. If the problem isn't solved by this I would suggest to delete all the secuurity settings from your AP maybe something is wrong there. It's not so easy to say what's is wrong in your setup since it can have a lot of different reasons.
