Wiring current signal to voltage input card

I have transmitter that has a current output but my input card is for voltage. Is it possible to wire these two together using a resistor and how?

Forcing current through a resistor always creates a voltage drop by the laws of physics.

The question is whether the voltage drop that is then measured by an analog input is a useable voltage drop range or whether it is a total mismatch.

And to answer that question involves numbers.

What is the range of the current signal?

What is the range of the voltage input?

Yes, the current has to go through the resistor.   So the analog output wires go on either end, with the analog input also wired to each of the wires and the resistor, like the sketch in the attachment.
