Hello Haris; Yes you could have done that way, or you could have looked at the Compact CPUs reference manual.The manual is available as an attachment, if you do not have it with you: You would have found the wiringschematic for the integrated IOs of CPU 313C (see fig. 7.3), and you would have seen that pin 40 is used, as 3M (ground connection for the 4th group of IOs).
