Working with plcsim

Hello dear allI

 I have a question regarding working with plcsim. I've installed simatic s7 including plcsim too. I 've written a program and I want to test it with plcsim. It should be noted that I have not connected any hardware to my pc and just configure it with software. When I open plcsim and click on download in program page. An error appears with the text of"unable to reach the module via the online interface"

The question is : how could I test program with plcsim without any real hardware?

You give us no information on the actual software you are working with, or the type of PLC you want to simulate. It would be easier for us if that information was part of the original question, don't you think?

One of the important points is that the communication interface selected for your virtual PLC must be PG/PC Interface = "PLCSim", and not the real interface you would use with your real PLC (MPI or Ethernet).

The version of simatics7 is v5.6. because i 'm just a trainer; type of cpu is not important for me, by now I have configured cpu314. I checked the pc/pg interface and set it on plcsim.Iso.1(there are other plcsim interface too such as plcsimlocal) but when I download the program an error of "unable to reach the module cpu314 via the online interface" appeared.

There might be a subtility when you are trying to simulate a S7-300 without integrated DP connectivity, such as your CPU 314. See if the following article helps you:

You can also try to simulate a CPU 315-2DP, foor example.
