I have a question... so is it possible to write directly from PLC to exact SQL table? has anyone tried this? if so, i need some help.

Yes . Its very well possible. You can write data from PLC to SQL data base with different ways.

Simple and easiest way is to use Industrial Data Bridge 7.3.

Install the IDB on the pc where your SQL data base is available.

Source will be PLC as send/ Recieve and Consumer will be data base for IDB.

At plc side use the TCON, TSEND,TDISCON and at datacbase side creat the SQL table.

Create the link beween PLC and data base in IDB. Once configuration is ready then put IDB configuration project in Runtime and say start. Then as per update time and plc triggering ,data will start transfering from PLC to data base.

Just go thru IDB manual intially. If you need any further help then you can contact .

2nd option can be via OPC . Thru simatic Net you can define PLC as OPC server and by develpoing OPC client at data base , you can transfer data from PLC to data base.

I know that it is possible with IDT or OPC, etc.... but main question is, if it is possible to write to SQL directly from PLC. So here I found some case witch make connection to SQL (do not work yet to me).

Idea should be, that we write from PLC directly some status of machine into SQL table. Without buying IDT or OPC licence....

some solution had Marko tried in some topic. Simply look, directly means communicate with defined messages with SQL Server, this isn't probably simple, you must know exact internal sequences. Also your question pointed to probably library produced by Siemens, don't know about this. Another cheap solution is create your own bridge application, this can be my solution if I'll be stay before this problem. If you're skilled in some higher language you can prepare this solution, doesn't cost any Money, only your effort. Perfect advantage is that you can change, prepare it due your specific requirements anytime.

I know that this is not eazy. So I wonder if someone has already written SW, where he writes from PLC to SQL without OPC. I know that this must be possible but if it is already done, I should not start from begin.

this is correct way, you need create new topic not continue ask inside closed/solved topic. Your good way is read all posts, take all Great ideas/examples and make tests. Then you can update your created topic with questions, also you can include info about readed topic that all know from what you take infos.
