Hi, i have this small project where im trying to get a sequence going for another larger project.

However, i ran into some problems almost immidiatly.

Using Move to PQW326
As soon i write to the PN slave (Cognex IS5400-11 vision camera), the cpu goes into stop mode.
Diagnostic buffer says access denied to the area im writing to, and i have tried using the write area 128 and up and gets the same error all the time.

Using SFC15 (DPWRT_DAT)
The CPU stays running, but nothing arrives at the camera (checking it with In-Sight Explorer)
RetVal returns -32624

I attached the current project.

The Siemens hardware
CPU313-6CE01-0AB0
CP 343-1EX30-0XE0

Any ideas as why this does not work at all?

Have you check that no BF led is active?

your description sounds that there is no communication between the CP and the camera so the I/O Areas can't be accessed.

 Both SF and BF are off.

Going online on the hardware shows no errors or red markings.

You cannot use the system functions SFC14 "DPRD_DAT" and SFC15 "DPWR_DAT". These system functions are available only for integrated DP interfaces with the S7-300. 

So please check if the Functions FC11 / FC12 to communicate between the CP and the Camera.

 Hi, when i add SFC11, it becomes DPSYC_FR (Sending control commands to groups of DP slaves).
The camera is a PN slave and not DP, is this correct SFC to use?

FC11 = PNIO_SEND

FC12 = PNIO_RECV

 Ok, used PNIO_SEND, but cpu goes into STOP mode with that one too..

It claims im accessing one area that i am not, diag buffer says imaccessing Adress 21.

The camera has the address 11 in HW config, and the mode i tried 0 and 1, varied the length from 1 to 7

"I/O access error, reading P area, word access, Access adress: 21"

FC11 = PNIO_SEND

FC12 = PNIO_RECV

your CP adress is 256 so the CPLADDR musst be 0x100 

In the Help System you find a description for the FC and how to use it.

After some hours we managed to get it working.. the manuals for pnio_send/recv is really bad.

Apparantly one needs a DB as long as the last Q/I-address on the PN module and send the whole DB, even to just modify one bit..

SOLUTION:

When working with S7 15XX and S7 12XX Series SFC14 (DPRD_DAT) and SFC15 (DPWRT_DAT)
you must pass to the parameter LADDR of the function the HW_IDENTIFIER instead of the I/O Address (like for 300 series).

Otherwise the function doesn't work and its RetVal returns -32624

In order to find the HW_IDENTIFIER let's go to Device Configuration -> Device View -> Device Overview
