X-400 Scalance Config

ioana Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	Hello! I have a problem with a PCS7 configuration: i have 2 scalance x400 switches(they have a cpu included) and a x200 switch. My question is:Can the x400 be configured in the HWConfig and if so , where can i find the files for the download because they do not exist in the PCS7 Standard Library. Thanks a lot!

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello Ioana, well... you have two chances to add the SCALANCE X400 or X200 to the HW Config. 1. Way... Use them as PROFINET IO Device. If you have the latest versions of the X400, V 2.2.0, you can use the SCALANCE X also as Device GSDXML File... see for more information's also the Manual at: SIMATIC NET Industrial Ethernet Switches SCALANCE X-300 SCALANCE X-400 Configuration Manual 2. Way... Use them as SNMP units MIBII File. Than you can monitor the units with the SNMP OPC Server. Than you have to configure them in a PC Station with OPC Server and SNMP OPC Server. skollie Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Option 1 is a NoGo, unless your PCS7 has a ProfiNET controller that supports the Profinet Extended Diagnostics protocol.... ... at least that's what I've been told when I wanted to combine X414-3 switches with a S7-400 PLC using the CP443-1 Advanced (which doesn't support the mentioned protocol).
