I agree with everything Daniel said, with the exception of being able to runthe bus at different speeds when a Y-Link is used. As for as I'm concerned, this is possible and fully supported by the Y-Link (albeit, I never had the need to do so and can't offer hands on experience). Put simple,a Y-link forms a new DP Master System that is completely independent of the DP Master Systemit is connected too. This new DP Master Systemalso has its own DP busparameters (based on the chosen baudrate or user defined) and allunderlying DP Slaves will bereceive the appropiate watchdog time upon configuration. @Pfaffi presuming your radio system that only supports 1.5Mbpsis the Data Eagle and depending on the model, you maywant to also consult THIS thread whose answer is unfortunaltly still outstanding. I hope this helps |

Hello Pfaffi
Yes you can, have a look at the attached Step7 HWconfig example pic.
Yes it is andyou would onlybuy one IM153-2 (instead of a redundant pair)together with theY-Coupler (6ES7197-1BL00-0XA0). Have a look tooat Connecting more than 125 DP slaves to a shared DP master system foranother example on how to (ab)use a Y-Link (note that this old FAQstill has an IM157 as the main DP Slave IM, you'd now use an IM153-2 for this). I hope this helps |

No you don't (there's no such thing really), a 153-2BA02 is the one to go for unless you need extended temperature range in which case you'd go for the 153-2BA82. Seealso the SIMATIC Bus links DP/PA coupler, active field distributors, DP/PA Link and Y Link manualfor more on this and everything else Y-Link related. |
