PCS 7 V7.1 SP1 Problem You cannot install APACS+ ES library over APACS+ OS option Details When you try to install the PCS 7/APACS ES Library option on your ES, you get an error message which says that it cannot be installed over the existing version. “The product cannot be installed over the existing version of PCS 7/OS Options Faceplates & Symbols 7.1.0.1. Set up will be closed.” On a dual-leg PCS 7 V7.1 SP1 system, where APACS and S7 controllers are both configured, an installation conflict can occur with the OS Options Faceplates and Symbols between the APACS OS Option and the APACS ES Library Option. You will get this error if you attempt to install the PCS 7/APACS ES Library option after the PCS 7/APACS OS Options Update V7.1.1 has been installed. Solution To correct this issue, perform the following steps: 1. Uninstall the OS Option Faceplates and Symbols a. Select “Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs” b. Find and select “PCS 7/OS Options Faceplates & Symbols” in the list of installed programs. c. Select “Change/Remove” d. Confirm file deletion by selecting “Yes”. e. Select “OK” when completed. f. Repeat steps b – e to also uninstall the program “PCS 7/APACS+ Faceplates & Symbols”. 2. Install only the “Faceplates & Symbols” options from the PCS 7/APACS+ OS Options V7.0 a. Insert “PCS 7/APACS+ OS Options V7.0” DVD into the drive. b. Refer to the “PCS 7 APACS+ OS Setup Guide” for details on the installation. c. When asked about the “Installation Type”, select “User-defined installation” instead of “Package installation”, and select “Next” to continue. d. Under the “Common” programs, select only “PCS 7/APACS+ Faceplates & Symbols”, and select “Next” to continue. e. Select “Install” to complete the installation. 3. Install the PCS 7/APACS+ ES Library option (See installation instructions in the Readme file.) 4. Install the PCS 7/APACS+ OS Options Update V7.1.1 (See installation instructions in the Readme file.) If you are installing the PCS 7/APACS+ OS Options and PCS 7/APACS+ ES Library for the first time, follow these steps for the correct order of installation. 1. Install the PCS 7/APACS+ OS Options V7.0 2. Install the PCS 7/APACS+ ES Library V7.1 |
