I guess you have necessary hardware to established connection with Step5 CPU. (PG + cable). In File menu open Project then select LOAD (F10). You'll load your project. Then go in Set (F4) and in tab PLC - double click on "Mode-Offline". If everything is correct you must see "Mode-Online". For diagnostic in Step 5 look at PLC menu ISTACK and BSTACK. How to read them look at Step5 manual In TEST menu you can see block status (just select one block and you can monitor, like Step 7 in chosen language). Also there has possibilities to look status varieble or to force some varieble, like Step7. I suggest you to start with manual and then if you have some questions...
