DO= and LW= operation

lisalxy Posts: 24 Rating: (0)	Hi all, I just want to clarify one thing here regarding a S5 program I am working with: Decl :A-DB I/Q/D/B/T/C: B (declared as DB141 in OB1) Decl :P-DB I/Q/D/B/T/C: B (declared as DB140 in OB1) :DO =A-DB ---------> does this mean C DB 141? :MSA :ADD DH 0000 0006 :T DD 196 :JU =M001 :JU =M002 M002 :L KB 2 :T DW 76 :L DH 5445 5354 :T DD 77 :L KS DB :T DW 52 :LW =A-DB --------> *can someone explain this part to me? I know that LW = means loading bit pattern of formal operand into ACCU and it only takes parameter type:D. But A-DB was declared as parameter type: B as above. :T DL 53 :L KB 0 :L DW 48 :><F Thank you in advance!

Yes it does. lisalxy :LW =A-DB --------> ***can someone explain this part to me? :T DL 53 It ultimately means that you will find the Integer number "141" in DL 53. After execution of "LW =A-DB" Accu1-L will contain a value of 141 in the Low byte and anotehr 'bitpattern" value that representsthe "DB" part of the parameter declaration in the high byte (which is typically of no use and in this case the programmer was definitely only interested in getting the DB number) I hope this helps
