S5 135U - CPU928B lack of memory and RUN problem

mihesper Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	I have a S5-135U with CPU928B PLC. This PLC is installed on a machine that before was working. this machine was out of work for some months, now i want to restart it again. The problem is that when I put the PLC in run mode, it does not go to run and the STOP LED starts blinking. Because I have the original program of the PLC , I erased all memory of the PLC and then tried to download the original program,but it says there is no sufficient memory.(the memory is 32K and the code is 37.5K). so I used compress memory command and finally downloaded the code. but yet the PLC doesnot got to run mode with out any error ??? -What could be the problem for RUN mode? -what is the best software to connect to S5 PLC's( I already hace IBH s5/s7 software)? -why it says there is no enough memory while before this code was on the memory of PLC and is it right to compress the memory several times to fit the code in? Thanks

To understand why the CPU is not going to RUN mode, you can evaluate the ISTACK ( DIagnostic data ) of the CPU and refer to the Manual of CPU 928B http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/19397726 Hope this helps Cheers Navnag

Thanks Are you sure it is the correct program? Do you use RAM or EPROM in the slot, or is the slot empty? May be, some DB must generated in RAM by OB20 and not copy in PLC, please check program.

The backup will contain DB's which are generated automatically by the startup OB's. Check which DB's are automatically created and do not tranfer theses to the CPU. Regards.
