Jeff23spl Advanced Member Joined: 2/6/2012 Last visit: 10/28/2024 Posts: 46 Rating: (1)	Hello I have 2 questions regarding the exemple Exemaple are using the same DB # in both PLC to exchange data, can i read a specific DB# from the partner and write it to a different local DB #? If yes, i would expect it need to be identical with same lenght and data type ? I have few local cpu running the same programm and a common controler plc that need to read each of them from the same DB# but i would like to use a separate DB for each on the common plc. To establish a ''1way'' connection like a serial master/slave, after configuring the ''GET'' bloc on local CPU do we need to use the ''put'' bloc on the partner CPU to have 1 connection working or each command bloc can work alone like a single read or single writte ?

Is it normal as it isn't locally created ?

Is it normal as it isn't locally created ? Are you using the get/put configuration dialog or are you manually configuring these get/put blocks? The partner DB is what you are reading to/from within the same project, correct? Are you perhaps using 2 distinct projects and trying get / put?

IM using V12 without any SP. I'm trying to install sp1 but it takes forever to install since yesterday so i wonder if there is anything better in it for me VS V12 sp0...

Is it possible to just use the GET instruction in my PLC1 and configure to the IP of the PLC2 adress? Or do I have to have the two PLCs in the same project? /Tim

I wonder because it would be easy if I can just use GET in the PLC1 and no need for modifying PLC2. Also I have gotten request from a customer: My customer have a s7-1200 I will deliver a cabinet with a s7-1200. He wants to get some information through ethernet communication from me So I wonder, can I deliver my cabinet and provide him with the structure of my datablock, then he can use GET instructions to get the information he wants? It would be good for me since I don't have to program anything.
