In the S7 conversion, this modulecan be replaced by the on-board DP-interface of the CPU, and the configuration of the Profibus-DP bus can be easily done in the HWConfig editor of Step 7. Alternatively, a Profibus-DP module ( such as the CP 443-5 Extended) can be placed on the S7rack. As far as the other IMs are concerrned, we need to know wht the order number of each one is, and what they are being used for. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier

In your particular IM308 case please make sure that you notedown the partnumber ofthe Drives Profibus interface module (this is the module that links its back to the IM308). Assuming you want to keep the Drives and link them back via Profibus to the S7 you may have a problem. Reason being is that your IM308 in the CPU rack is actually an IM308B (not an IM308C which is the full Profibus DP compliant successor to the IM308B). The IM308Bsupported connection of "DP Slaves" that weren't compliant with the final Profibus DP standard (which was still in draft form when the IM308B was developed). If you for example have Simoreg K 6RA24 Drives on this S5, chances are that they have a CS51 comms board in them which you can NOT use as a DP Slave on an S7 (there's no GSD file for it as it is not a a compliant DP Slave and has for example high and low bytes reversed in every word) You will need to replace it with a CB24 comms board (and even that is hard to get nowadays). Anyway, as said before, start with a full audit of all gear and part numbers, suffice to say you will have your work cut out for you going by gear that visable in the picture you sent and good luck with the upgrade.
