Use of LAPTOP for S5 CPU

Prats Posts: 272 Rating: (4)	Dear All, One of my customer is using a laptop,he want to programme and download the programme in the CPU, howeverin modern Laptops the port of TTY is not available. How canPCI slot be used for the same system.

I using PG and original cable 6ES5734-2BF00. woisi Posts: 21 Rating: (3)	There are also USB-Adapter-Cables available; but be carefull - that have to be specal adapters (not "normal" USB to RS232), this is a special hardware with a windows-driver specially for S5-Online for examle see here: S5-Online USB or goggle for it

KayBee Posts: 241 Rating: (7)	just for programming or downloading you can borrow a laptop with COM port for few days from your friend or coleague. Laptop with Com port are not yet obsolete many people using laptop which is with com port. Once you have done with it. You can return the laptop. Also installing Step5 software is how easy you know that.
