Latest BIOS PG720 Pentium V4.08 ?

Hello

Is this ok BIOS for mfg.1998 PG720P ( I version not II ) ? Or will it brick / break the motherboard of the laptop ? I believe the PG720P now has original V4.03(date 1998) in it.

PG720:

• Processor= AMD K6-I 233MHz Littlefoot socket 7
• RAM Memory= 32MB ( 2x16MB )
  
• Hard drive HDD= 3.25GB. IBM DTCA-23240 (2.5") IDE PATA. Hungary 5V 500mA (mfg.1998)

Hello Kalle4,

when you look at the tab "Associated product(s)" on that page with the BIOS, you get the article numbers of the corresponding PG720 types.

One of these numbers must be printed on a label on your PG. Did you check that number / label?

Hello the laptop is similar PG720P. AMD 233MHz (socket 7). 3.25GB HDD drive.

Those lists are for P133, P150= Pentium 1, 133MHz, 150MHz, MMX (socket 7)

1.44GB HDD drive and 2.1GB HDD drive

-> The processor can be changed socket 7 AMD/Pentium up to 100-500MHz and HDD size too can be changed. So it has just better specs.

Also region, keyboard layout and such might change those serial numbers: Europe, Asia, America,...

This one is bought in North Europe= Finland.

Siemens seems to have upgraded the P720P system during the time they were sold 1997-1999>

I believe the laptop is 100% original Siemens OEM. But the question is can I use V.4.08 BIOS update on it. Is it good for all PG720 ?

I highly think V4.08 is the right BIOS for PG720PI. Can anyone confirm ?

Newer: PG720PII (=Pentium 2,II) has different BIOS V07.01.05 (2000)

PG720C ( Intel i486, DX4 )

I'm planning to put a bigger hard drive HDD to it and need that BIOS update if V4.08 is possible and compatible with this computer ? Will it work ?
