Hello Is this ok BIOS for mfg.1998 PG720P ( I version not II ) ? Or will it brick / break the motherboard of the laptop ? I believe the PG720P now has original V4.03(date 1998) in it. The BIOS update V4.08 Pentium is from 2001: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/us/en/view/7107558 Laptop is: PG720:

Siemens seems to have upgraded the P720P system during the time they were sold 1997-1999> I believe the laptop is 100% original Siemens OEM. But the question is can I use V.4.08 BIOS update on it. Is it good for all PG720 ? "The PG 720P notebook programming device is now available with new hardware features. It replaces the existing unit. The new mobile microprocessor with 233 MHz clock frequency supports MMX features and provides approx. 35 % more performance than the existing microprocessor with 150 MHz MMX. The hard disk capacity has been increased from 2.1 GBytes to 3.2 Gbytes." |

I highly think V4.08 is the right BIOS for PG720PI. Can anyone confirm ? Newer: PG720PII (=Pentium 2,II) has different BIOS V07.01.05 (2000) https://support.industry.siemens.com/tf/ww/en/addpost/185647/ Why so many models of PG720 ? PG720C ( Intel i486, DX4 ) |

Hello, look, in my opinion your questions are still very specific and doubt that someone here give you clear info. BIOS Update on PGs is specific and only Siemens can give you clear info, so pls send Support request. After you have solution, pls come here back and give us clear info about solution. Thank you. |

Hello, I see standard support request for free (you need probably wait for some indication from Support in your account info) and if you need really quick support you need pay with some defined option. Also I expect if you call with phone you pay for phone call. For better info check Support request description. |
