I agree a laptop will be fine unless you need to do s5 or burn eproms then a pg would be a better choice |

No, that is wrong. At least in Germany. If I buy PG with all I need, it is approx. same then buying high quality Notebook (no "Lenovo" or s*** like that) with additional DP-Interface and SIMATIC MMC - Reader and S7 Professional and WinCCflexadvanced. .... If you looking for Step 5, you should select PG with Windows XP As per PG-M4 technical specification, Scope of delivery/accessories
May be you don't care if you bought a PG-M4 with OS MS Windows XP, but please note that as of April 8, 2014 Microsoft stated that no more technical support or Service Packs will be provided for Windows XP. Windows XP Support has ended Hope this helps.
