Depending on the use of the Interfaces you require you may exceed the max number of interfaces connectable to the S7-300. Here the only alternative would be to add Decentralized Peripherals. In addition the CP 527 is not available to the S7-300. So you would have to choose another way, maybe something like the CP 341 or CP 340, but these processors do not offer the function range the CP 527 had. About the PLC program I would not think of right now, because the size depends usually on the functionality you want to use in the PLC.
