Communication between lamtec system, wincc and cpu412 via tcp/ip

behnam ba Advanced Member Joined: 4/21/2022 Last visit: 7/10/2025 Posts: 111 Rating: (0)	Hi to all we have got two boiler in our factory and burner system is controling with lamtec systems and we have got cpu412 for control other process we want create a opearation tation with wincc and connect to cpu412 and lamtec sysem . we connect to cpu with tcp/ip and we dont know how must to comminucate between cpu and lamtec. Next question is, very important, if you have chance change something on that other HW cfg. Simply, in case of not Siemens S7 HW then it is impossible to solve something only on S7 side.

A Profinet file is normally marked as "GSDML" to differentiate with Profibus "GSD". Do you have the GSDML file? Adding this file to your project will make the device available to the PLC as a remote input/output station. Normally when a company makes a GSD file available, some example S7 project is also given. This will save you some time. Perhaps find out from the manufacturer about this. Are these notes already of value to you? Or what do you ask of our volunteers?

Simply as I said also, you need to know cfg of that Slave device, better say about its comm channels available. I don't want to speculate to see your litle screenshot about that device, your actual cfg can be different. Next, to this info what that device has as comm available links, you need prepare your CPU. Due this comm types available you need add comm modules to your CPU capable that specific comm protocol, be careful here. Ok, you have maybe GSD file but thi is nothing important yet, it can be actually ok if you confirm that Lamtec is PB DP Slave capable with interface and then you can add to your PLC module for PB DP or use internal Port if it's fitted on CPU. This need your action here to confirm and check all what is important. Without this you can do nothing and all functionality is not expected.

What we want sugest to you is that generally all devices are configured with same system and simply it doesn't matter what type of device is used, cfg is same as map I/O data areas to have them in your CPU. As I said, documentation to device can show all answers to your questions, also what data are available for process, with what data type. On more problematic situation you can call Lamtec support maybe for better answer. No problem to wait maybe for exact user that have experience with Lamtec but no one can guarantee when it will happen. I expect same answer as we offered to you already.
