Allen Bradley PowerFlex 400 VFD?

JMWagner Advanced Member Joined: 2/25/2014 Last visit: 10/28/2024 Posts: 39 Rating: (2)	Getting very frustrated with trying to figure out why we are getting so many intermittent communication errors on this FLN. We are installing 6 new Allen Bradley Powerflex 400 VFD's on an existing Siemens MBC. The old drives failed and when trying to configure the new ones we get them to talk briefly and then they stop. If we cycle power to them they will talk for a little while or go straight into intermittent communication issues. Has there been any publications on these drives other than the normal Application notes for 2735? I have tried different speed, we pulled 1.5 wire, we have tried EOL resistors no resistors, shielded not shielded. Somebody please help me, this is making me crazy.

JMWagner Advanced Member Joined: 2/25/2014 Last visit: 10/28/2024 Posts: 39 Rating: (2)	After working with the Allen Bradley tech support it appears the grounding on the drive might be the issue. He said to try and add an earth ground wire to the terminal for Digital Common it might help. The problem went away right after I did that to the drives.
