I am facing an unexpected problem with a Logo! 8.4 (12/24RCE model) that is affecting my application. I recently updated the program: Initial version: v1.0 Update to: v1.1 Two days after the update, the program in Logo! reverted by itself to the previous version (v1.0), with the original factory settings and parameters. This behavior had never happened before and resulted in serious operational problems for my application. Here are the details of the setup: I use a DM8 expansion and a TDE interface. The system has an SD card to store data logs, which are crucial for the project. The panel has a battery in the 24V system, ensuring that it does not turn off in case of a power outage. The battery is new, since the panel was installed a few days ago. The original program was transferred to the Logo! via SD card, since it is a mass-produced panel. The update to version v1.1 was done by Logo! Soft Comfort 8.4. Researching the problem, I found two posts in topics that raised questions: Not enabling the "Copy to SD Card" function: Can this prevent the program from being automatically overwritten? Inserting an empty SD card: I read that this can cause Logo! to lose the program or return to default settings. My main questions: What could be causing this program rollback? What would be the best practice to avoid this type of problem, considering that I need to use the SD card to store the large data logs? If anyone has experienced something similar or can clarify these points, I would be very grateful! Thank you in advance for your help!

ixo65 Grandmaster Joined: 12/18/2014 Last visit: 9/23/2025 Posts: 36025 Rating: (4505)	If the program is saved on the SD card, the SD card must be removed after the first start of the LOGO! and the program on the SD card deleted. If the program remains on the card and the card remains in the LOGO!, the program in the LOGO! program memory is overwritten by the program on the SD card every time the LOGO! is restarted. Since the LOGO! has a program memory, it is not necessary to leave the program on the SD card.

Then, leave the memory card empty in the slot, using it only to store the data logs. Also, in this configuration, is it possible to enable Copy Protection to protect the program?
