Protool installation problem

GOG Experienced Member Joined: 9/12/2011 Last visit: 10/7/2025 Posts: 61 Rating: (0)	Hi, I'm trying to install protool V6 SP3 but the installation doesn't start. It just start analysing the system files (loading the bar to 100%) and then nothing. the installation had been aborted. Does anybody has an idea about that? Thanks

My problem was that i had had windows XP SP3. I installed protool successfully after i changed the windows to XP SP2. Regards.

Just last week I have done some installations successfully.

ProTool/Pro V6.0 SP3 is running very fine with XP SP3. Just last week I have done some installations successfully. Hello, Totally agree with IBN. Although it is not listed that Protool is compatible with WinXP SP3 in the following link, But Siemens have to correct this FAQ and add WinXP SP3 to the list as it is tested by many users. Which versions of SIMATIC ProTool/Lite, SIMATIC ProTool and SIMATIC ProTool/Pro are compatible with which Windows operating systems? I already have Win XP SP3 with Protool and it's working fine without any problems. So the probem was not with the operating system. I know that GOG solved his problem, but for similar cases, please before changing the OS, have a look on these links: Complete uninstallation of ProTool/Lite, ProTool and ProTool/Pro You have to follow all steps of the above link to ensure that you already cleaned the registry when un-installing any old or corrupted protool versions. Hope this helps.

I believe that you're right because i've upgraded the windows XP to SP3 after i had installed the protool/Pro V6.0 SP3 and it's working okay with me and i successfully compeleted my work. My old Windows XP must had had some other problems. Thank you.
