Hi, It is correct that since a new update (I believe since UC01) you cannot change some I/O of instances unless it is has one of the following requirements:
When one of the requirements is met, the I/O will not be synchronized from type to instances. You can always create an interconnection from an external chart, but not a interconnection inside the same CM chart. |
If I could help you, you can use the RATE button. Thank you. |

For any particular CMT instance you can also disable (uncheck) "Support type instance behavior" from the CMT technological settings. Then you can freely change any nub's (block IO) value or make any connection internally or externally, but you have additional impacts/restrictions with what can be synchronized to the CMT master in the library in the future if you add/remove variants which use those nubs or change default values for block IO globally. |

In my opinion it depends on your use case. If you have a high amount of CMT instances to change the configuration, then adding them as TIO or pink type makes sense. Thus you also gain the ability to bulk edit them from technological view or POV. If you have just a handful of 1-off instances to customize, then setting it to not follow type instance makes more sense. Since you are customizing it anyhow, it's not as likely you will care to synchronize those instances to the master later anyhow. Maybe if you add whatever feature you are adding as a variant later it could give you a conflict, but this is really deep in details. In either case you should not have to perform download in STOP unless you have substantially changed blocks to the point that you can't do a tCIR download for example if you decide to mess with block properties and make nubs OCM instead of using TIO features. Typically a standard changes download can handle it if you go the TIO route. |
