Standart FB

enunes Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hi all, In my process, there are a lot of motors with the same I/O and interface. So, I wrote a standart FB to controlall of them. I tested this FB with one motor but when a try to use this FB with the second motor it not work. The outputs of this second block are the same of the first block, even with differents inputs. I can make it work, creating another DB instance to the second motor. The question is, do I need to create one DB instance for each motor? Or is there a way to make it to work with only one FB and DB instance? Thanks a lot for any help, and sorry my english.

sfa Posts: 70 Rating: (3)	Hi enunes In principle you need an instance for each motor. If you have not declared any stat variables in the FB, you can use an FC instead without the DB's /søren

Or is there a way to make it to work with only one FB and DB instance? there sure is presuming you work with the "normal" Step 7 (V5.x),it's called Multi-Instance andthe FAQ below will give you all the detail about its usage(the inbuilt Step 7 help has good info about it too): How do you create and update multiple instances? Just inyou are using an S7 1200 or TIA Portal (you posted in the Step 7 Basic conference which belongs to the TIA Portal),you'll need to reference the following FAQ (Mulit-Instance capability is still limited with TIA Portal V10.5 but will hopefully be just a powerful as it is in Step 7 V5.x when TIA Portal V11 is released): Which function blocks can you call as multi-instance in STEP 7 V10.5? Guus Posts: 20 Rating: (1)	Drag from your library and drop in your 'Program Block'. Do this for each motor. Don't forget to give each block another FB number, it's not automatically. Drag a FB to your OB and a DB will be created. Good Luck!
